AHIA’s Grant program is to help qualified individuals that have experienced a moderate to severe traumatic or non-traumatic brain injury (TBI and (ABI). Written verification of the medical diagnosis is required. In some special cases, a caregiver may also qualify. The three categories of AHIA grants are:
- Accessible Housing (Home Modifications)
- Education & Training
- General Fund
Additional information is provided in the grant application forms. Decisions will be made on the merit of the anticipated benefit of the requested item or service to the applicant.
AHIA Accessible Housing Grant
This grant is intended to be used to make a specific request for home modifications and accessibility requests. The funding limit is up to $2,000 max, per applicant and one time only.

AHIA Education & Training Grant
This grant is intended to be used to make a specific request for education or training expenses. The funding limit is up to $2,000 max, per applicant and one time only.

AHIA General Fund Grant
This grant is intended to be used to make a specific request for equipment, services, or funding for special needs such as medical, rehabilitation, social, and other items that don’t fit in the other two grant types. The funding limit is up to $800 max, per calendar year.

NOTE: We require all applicants to have sustained a moderate to severe acquired brain injury that has impaired function and/or quality of life. All applicants will have to provide proof of disability and hardship.
AHIA reserves the right to approve or deny any application submitted. Each application will be subjected to review.
