The 25th Annual Brain Injury Symposium hosted by Alamo Head Injury Association, will be held in April of 2026. More details to follow.

Our annual symposium consists of 6 lectures from distinguished brain injury experts, professors, survivors, etc. This is truly a great day for networking opportunities and obtaining Continuing Education Credits (CEs). There will be time to walk around and visit with our sponsors at their booths as well.

AHIA provides our attendees with a light breakfast, lunch, drinks, and snacks. Come join us as we continue to grow our community. Together let’s pursue improving the quality of life for brain injury survivors.

Continuing Education

This event offers continuing education (CE) credits to nurses, case managers, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, certified rehabilitation counselors, and community rehabilitation program providers. 

Nurses: Pending approval for continuing education in accordance with Florida & California Boards of Registered Nursing Statutes. This certification is in accordance with other State Board of Nursing (SBON), as defined by their state statutes.

Texas Social Workers: Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners no longer pre-approves courses; the attendee is responsible to determine if the content meets the need of their license renewal requirements. Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners for six credit hours. They do not approve credits. Pending approval by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers.

Occupational Therapists: This course may qualify for credit towards license renewal if it meets criteria to further your professional practice in your area of practice. Pending approval by the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy.

Physical Therapists: Pending approval for the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for six credit hours for PTS and PTAs. 

Speech-Language Pathologists: Approved for the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) for six credit hours. TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures. 

Rehabilitation Counselors: Approved for the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselors Certification for six CE contact hours. 

Scully Health Management, Inc., an approved provider of continuing education, provides and manages conference credits. This conference may qualify for continuing education if it meets your professional needs or furthers your professional practice. The contact hours calculations and distributions are in accordance with certification rules and regulations of the professional boards.
